The Three P's of Success

1. Patience = be consistent in what your're doing; the race is not given to the swift or strong, but to those who endure until the end; give it time, lots of time...and just keep on doing what you're doing and getting better and better at it, until you realize your dream

2. Perseverance = never give up; never quit; never say never; never let someone else decide your success, no matter who they are or what their title is

3. Passion = believe in yourself enough to put yourself out their; no fear; take advantage of every opportunity (legally) to share your vision

Click here for a great example of a local musician who is a great example of #3.  I just met him, so we'll see about 1 and 2.

New! Breathing 2nd Life Into Networking

Many people fail to see the value of social networking in various modes or formats.  I have come to embrace networking in many different forms, both online and offline, primarily because it is my nature to seek out new and innovative things, as I get bored easily.  But, also, because I truly enjoy connecting with diverse people from all over my local and global communities.

In "My 2nd Life Journal", I will be sharing about my experiences as a virtual networker.  No, it is actually not just simply online gaming in Second Life and other virtual reality websites like it.  There is real time great stuff going on, and it is difficult to explain this to those who are not also in-world.  However, I will do my best to bring forth the best information that I can muster up for those who'd like to live vicariously through me.
If you'd like to join me in-world, click this link to sign-up, and be sure to search for me and add me (Tuty Inkpen) as a friend.

[EXCERPT]
I am so happy to finally be starting a journal where I can share about my very real experiences interacting with very real people in a virtually unreal world. Currently...

Twitter & Facebook: How To & Not To Integrate Them

For your personal Facebook (FB) page, keep family and friends from becoming confused by your twitter feed on your personal page, as I have been so wrongly doing for months.

I suggest that you follow some time-tested wisdom (recently gleaned during an awesome webinar), instead of my very bad example: find a way to either only put certain twitter feed onto your personal FB page or put all of your twitter feed only on a business or fan page.

The other alternative is to not integrate your twitter updates into your Facebook activities, at least not until you have a viable solution to the aforementioned.

If you are serious about becoming more effective as a social networker, then be sure to remember that wise effective social networkers always understand the importance of weaving their network web very well.

So, integration is a key to your effectiveness. Here are a couple of suggestions to help you with this:

1.
ping.fm:
I am so grateful for all of the very brilliant social networking software development folks out there. In my opinion, ping.fm has the very best developers, and is a well-kept secret.
I have been using it to enhance my effectiveness online for quite a while now and find it to be relatively simple and bug-free for most of the sites that I have integrated it into, except for Facebook.

Because setting up the Facebook ping.fm app can be very involved, and slightly (or greatly) confusing, I won't even attempt to leave any brief tips that could prove a disaster for you later on.

If you feel up to it, just carefully read the instructions on the ping site. If not, then look for my upcoming announcement on how you can get my help.

2.
I also suggest that you search for a twitter/facebook application that will allow you to put only parts of your twitter stream into your Facebook updates or page posts.
There was a note circulating amongst my FB (FaceBook) friends recently about a specific application, but since I haven't tried it, yet, I won't suggest it outright. Once I give a good look at how effective it is, then I will mention it in a future post.

How have you decided to approach this challenge of integrating your twitter and Facebook updates? Leave a comment below or tweet me.

Thanks for reading and happy networking!

Welcome to Tw-utorial & Update from Donna aka WWAHHMpreneur

WELCOME

First of all, welcome and thank you to all of the subscribers on this blog, prior and more recent. And, even moreso, thanks for spreading the word.

PURPOSE

I believe that everyone needs to understand the deeper purpose of online social networking, and of this blog: helping build an authentic global community of valuable contributors. The more people's hearts that this message touches, the better it will be for us all, in the end.

Is this topic of online community important to you, as well? If so, tweet me about it, or leave a comment on this blog.

PAST, PRESENT, FUTURE

You may have noticed that the posts have been more frequent. This is partially because of the increased demand for help.

The most recent tips have come from your questions and feedback. So, if you haven't seen a tip, yet, on a social networking topic that is important to you, let me know about it.

See the summary below for a re-cap of what I've been talking about (and a slight hint about upcoming posts).

Also, remember to visit the blog to view videos, slideshows, participate in the polls, read about featured tools and resources, and check out the ads (which help fund our free offers).

And, again, Thanks!

Yours Truly,

#tweettip - Thanking Multiple People Quickly on Twitter

Quick Tip:

To Thank multiple people all at one time on twitter.com:

>login to twitter.com
>find your sidebar on right
>click on the link that has your @username to view all of the @ replies sent to you
>hover over each message and click on the reply button for each one successively and you'll see that all of their @username's will show as part of the same tweet
>this will keep down the number of thank you's that you send out and help to keep your twitter stream from becoming too busy

(This was in reply to a question during Mari Smith's call tonight.)

Managing Your Own Social Network Effectively - Post #1

Introduction

I used to wonder how people can effectively manage over 1,000 followers on twitter and hundreds or thousands of followers on other networks, as well. It is obvious that many celebrities and corporations have dedicated staff or consultants that handle this for them, but how can one person handle it all on their own?

Well, now with close to 2,000 followers on my main twitter account, and only me to handle things, I know firsthand that it is not an easy process. However, I've been blessed to learn, over the past 13 years, some of the best social networking and business practices that have been time-tested by my mentors and their predecessors.

This series of blog posts will share excellent tips and tools that have helped me and many others to be effective as online social networkers.

This blog site at tw-utorial.com already contains some of the information that I will share in this series, so have a look around, as well, especially at the list of #tweettip 's.

Please check back regularly, or subscribe to tw-utorial.com to get the updates automatically delivered by e-mail or RSS feed. (It's a spam-free, subscriber-controlled system from FeedBurner.com, a trusted platform owned by Google and trusted by thousands of bloggers and their fans.)

Thanks so much for taking time to read this post.
And, if you find it helpful, please bookmark it, and tweet and post about it and tell your friends, family, and colleagues, as well.

Have a wonderful week!

Sincerely,
Donna Johnson, aka @WWAHHMpreneur

If you're asking yourself, "How in the world does she manage almost 2,000 twitter followers and still have a life?"
One secret is that I use what the experts use to make twitter account management flow more smoothly:
tweetlater.com

I love tweetlater because they are excellent and always improving their offerings and making my job easier and easier. Their app is not in beta form (it's already been tested and tried), is relatively easy to use, and enhances my enjoyment of my overall twitter experience, as well.
